Memorial Day Flag Project

Each May, volunteers come together to support and remember those who have served our country as part of our flag project. With the help of volunteers, flags are placed on the graves of the more than 2,500 veterans interred at Woodlawn Cemetery. The public can also donate money toward the purchase of the flags to show support for this important project.

Wreaths Across America

Each December, millions of Americans come together to remember the fallen, honor those that serve and their families, and teach the next generation about the value of freedom. This gathering of volunteers and patriots takes place in more than 2,500 local and national cemeteries in all 50 states, including Woodlawn, as part of National Wreaths Across America Day. During this free event, Woodlawn places thousands of wreaths on the graves of veterans interred in the cemetery for the holidays. Wreath sponsorships are available to the public.

During the summer, Woodlawn hosts an exhibit inside the 48-foot trailer, where visitors have an opportunity to explore, honor our fallen veterans and learn more about Wreaths Across America.
